Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
Design of custom protection and control solutions, including physical layouts, schematics, logic diagrams, wiring/interconnection, grounding, cable schedules and other required custom control hardware for custom FACTS solutions for orders and proposals.
Develop Bills of Material for all designs, ensure consistency and quality throughout all design documentation.
Contribute to continuous improvement of standard control documentation for FACTS equipment including protection and control systems.
Coordinate with offshore design resources and the project team members on technical matters to meet project specifications, cost control and schedule objectives.
Interface with internal and external team members such as principal engineers, control engineers, civil engineers, electrical designers, project managers, engineering leaders and support organizations.
Facilitate the development and execute cost reduction programs that vary in scope and may include low-cost vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction.
Excellent personal computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and Word, AutoCAD Electrical, and MicroStation.
Support project quality procedures and initiatives including aspects of ISO9001.

Electrical and Controls drawing experience
Proficient in Standard Drafting practices
Knowledge of and experience using IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC, AUS, CSA, and NESC standards and codes, and ability to design packages when no clear customer specification is provided.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated creativity and ability to be accountable for team results in order to deliver a high-quality product on time and under budget.
